Akins Family Genealogy

FAMILY FOLKLORE: that the Matthews/Mathews are related to Peter Matthews the rebel hung for treason in 1838 than pardoned too late. I am starting to feel John Mathews' wife Mary Jane was the connection and that her mother was Peter Matthews' sister, Eleanor or that they have confused Mathews. I have found that William Mathews brother to my gr-gr-great grandfather John had to leave Canada for a while for his part in the rebellion, some reports suggest William may have actually triggered the rebellion by spreading political rumors.

When the wind is blowing northwest are near Keswick or Beaverton on the eastern shore of Lake Simcoe, occasionally Balm Beach on the mid-eastern side of Georgian Bay.
On a southeast, southwest, east we go to Cherry Beach in Toronto or Lake Erie.
West winds sometimes come in at Keswick on Lake Simcoe, rarely Cherry Beach and are very unreliable.
We have travelled to Cape Hatteras 4 times, P.E.I. Cda and St. Vincent in the Caribbean once each.
